Today, I’m thrilled to share a delightful vegan twist on a classic iced latte: the Almond Milk Iced Latte.
As the name suggests, this refreshing drink combines wonderfully strong espresso with creamy almond milk, topped off with a dash of almond syrup to elevate the nutty flavor.
It’s the perfect pick-me-up for a hot summer day! So, let’s dive in and start brewing this delicious concoction.
Ingredients you need
- Cubed Ice: Using cubed ice ensures your latte stays chilled without diluting the rich flavors too quickly. The larger the cubes, the longer they last.
- Almond Milk: Opt for unsweetened almond milk for a creamy texture that perfectly balances the espresso’s boldness.
- Espresso or Strong Coffee: Freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee provides the robust base that invigorates this iced latte.
- Almond Syrup: A splash of almond syrup adds a sweet, nutty depth that enhances the almond milk and ties all the flavors together beautifully. Choose Monin almond syrup to ensure your latte remains completely vegan.
Step-by-step
How To Make Almond Milk Iced Latte From Scratch
Step 1: Brew your espresso directly into the serving glasses, or use an Aeropress, French press, or cold brew method. Alternatively, you can brew the coffee into a pitcher and let it cool, or pour it over ice to chill it faster.
Step 2: Fill the glasses with cubed ice. Pour the cooled coffee over the ice, then add almond milk, leaving some space for the almond syrup.
Step 3: Serve with a drinking straw for easy stirring and sipping.
How to cool down coffee fast?
- Ice Bath: Pour the hot coffee into a metal or glass container, then place the container in a larger bowl filled with ice and a bit of water. Stir the coffee occasionally to help it cool down faster.
- Ice Cubes: Brew the coffee directly over ice cubes, or add ice cubes to the hot coffee to cool it down quickly. This might dilute the coffee slightly, so consider making coffee ice cubes in advance for this purpose.
- Frozen Coffee Ice Cubes: Freeze leftover coffee in ice cube trays and add these coffee ice cubes to your hot coffee to chill it without dilution.
- Shaker Method: Pour the hot coffee into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake vigorously, and strain into your glass.
- Refrigerator or Freezer: Pour the hot coffee into a shallow container to increase the surface area, then place it in the refrigerator or freezer. Stir occasionally to help it cool more evenly.
- Metal Ice Cubes or Chilling Rods: Use metal ice cubes or a stainless steel chilling rod, which are designed to cool drinks quickly without diluting them.
- Cold Water Bath: Place the container of hot coffee into a larger bowl filled with cold water. Stir the coffee occasionally and replace the water with colder water if needed.
