I love a classic latte but even a classic can use a little update. This awesomely easy Almond Milk Latte recipe is just the update your coffee has been looking for!

Almond milk and freshly brewed espresso make an irresistible combination that will energize you and excite your taste buds; plus, this incredible recipe is great for dairy-free coffee fans!

Ingredients you need

You'l need two double espressos, honey, and almond milk, to make an almond milk honey latte.
  • Almond Milk: Almond milk has a great texture and taste for pairing with a nice robust espresso. For this recipe, try to choose plain, unsweetened almond milk, and be sure to seek out barista-quality products. These types of almond milk are enriched with extra plant-based fats so they are creamier, thicker, and easier to steam or foam.
  • Honey: Honey is a great way to sweeten this delicious drink. It has a nice complex sweetness with more flavor than traditional sugar. You can adjust the amount of honey to suit your personal tastes, and if you’re going for a vegan take on this yummy latte, swap the vegan for agave or brown sugar.
  • Espresso: Bold and delicious espresso is the coffee element in this classic latte. It brings the right level of caffeine and robust coffee flavor to this easy recipe. Use your favorite espresso beans to freshly pull double shots for this recipe. You can brew with an Aeropress, Moka Pot, countertop espresso machine, or whatever espresso equipment you have at home.
  • Cocoa: The ideal finishing touch for this delicious drink is a light dusting of cocoa powder. You can even grab a stencil and hold it over the cup before dusting it to create a fun image on top of your drink!

Barista Tips

Remember to watch your temperature. To craft the perfect milk foam you want the milk to be between 131°F and 149°F. If you want an easy way to keep an eye on the heat, invest in a thermometer that clips onto the inside of your steaming pitcher or saucepan.

Also, remember that milk makes a difference when foaming! Choose a great barista-quality almond milk for a thick, creamy, and smooth latte.

Mixing warm milk and honey in advance gives an excellent union of the two which provides the best taste experience and prevents the honey from settling in the glass.

Products

  • Saucepan: Use this or a microwave-safe mug to heat the milk to the ideal temperature. If you have a countertop espresso machine, you can also use the steam wand to heat the almond milk to the right toasty temperature.
  • Serving Glass: I love to use heat-proof glass mugs when serving this awesome latte. The glass allows you to see the mouthwatering color of the drink before you even sip it; however, you can use your favorite mugs for this drink.
